- The man most directly responsible for this twaddle was Robert Bankston, who
- did thus comment on Arexx question on the night of 04-Oct-97:
- -> Hey I know this isn't AMOS related but as many AMOS programmers are
- -> bi-lingual (in the computer sense), I thought I'd ask.
-
- -> I don't know Arexx at all but what I'd like to do is have a script that I
- -> can run from Final Writer which will load all Final Writers documents
- -> within a given directory and save them as ASCII files with a different
- -> extension. I don't have a clue though on how to do this. Any ARexx
- -> literate folks care to shed some light on this? Thanks for the help.
-
- If a program has an AREXX port, they usually come with a set of instructions
- in
- the documentation files which tell you basically how to use the main program
- via
- a script.
-
- What they will do, is perform actions in the program from a command-line, pre
- set level, so they can perform common tasks etc.
-
- It would be a good idea to study these commands, then make an ASCII file with
- them in (according to the documentation) and run it with RX whilst Final
- writer
- is running.
-
- Ive dabbled in REXX a little bit, I wrote a POP3 retrieval script and a few
- other bits and bats, and the programs that use REXX usually have their own
- command sets anyhow.
